Hi! I’m Hollye Jacobs, RN, MS, MSW—a keynote speaker, New York Times bestselling author, resilience coach, nurse, social worker, and child development specialist.
My passion is helping people navigate life’s most challenging circumstances with compassion, knowledge, and hope. I’m especially known for my work in resilience, women’s health, and for my commitment to supporting individuals and families through illness, grief, and personal transformation.
At 39, I was diagnosed with breast cancer despite being a healthy, active mother with no family history of the disease. That experience changed my life and inspired me to write The Silver Lining: A Supportive and Insightful Guide to Breast Cancer. My goal was to offer the kind of practical guidance and emotional support I wished I’d had—a resource that was both clinically credible and deeply hopeful. Since then, I’ve been privileged to connect with people around the world, offering insights and encouragement as they navigate illness and recovery. My unique perspective—blending professional expertise with lived experience—has made me a trusted resource for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals alike.
Media & Recognition
I’ve had the honor of appearing on national platforms like Good Morning America, Dr. Phil, Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, and The Doctors.
As a keynote speaker, I strive to bring warmth, humor, and actionable insights to conferences and events across the country. Audiences often tell me they appreciate my ability to translate complex experiences into hope and practical advice.
My Philosophy
I believe in finding “Silver Linings” even in the most difficult circumstances. My holistic, family-centered approach emphasizes the importance of community, self-care, and resilience. Through my writing, coaching, and speaking, I hope to inspire and empower others to discover strength, joy, and meaning—no matter what life brings.
My Professional Journey
Throughout my career, I’ve served as an educator, clinician, trainer, and consultant at institutions such as City of Hope National Medical Center, the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital, the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I am a Master Certified Resilience Coach and have completed advanced training in palliative care, end-of-life care, and clinical medical ethics at Harvard Medical School and the University of Chicago.
My private coaching practice is dedicated to helping people cultivate resilience, equanimity, and well-being—whether they’re facing illness, recovering, changing careers, or simply seeking personal growth. I also lead international retreats and teach workshops on resilience, wellness, and navigating health challenges.
